What is the Members Corner?

Members Corner is the unique, exclusive online community for members of NEACH. You can use Members Corner to connect and network with other payments professionals, ask questions and seek advice, and share your knowledge and work with others. Members Corner is a safe place for members to chat, share ideas and worries, and discuss sensitive topics, while being able to rest easy knowing non-members will not see what you post.

back to questions

How do I sign up for an account at Members Corner?

If you’re a NEACH member, you already have an account at Members Corner! As part of your NEACH membership, you can log into engage.neach.org and gain access to Members Corner and its many communities.

back to questions

What is my password? Can I change my password? What if I forget my password?

If you already have an account on www.neach.org, use the username and password associated with that account to log in. If you’d like to change your password, you must email NEACH at info@neach.org – please note that changing your password is not instantaneous and can take up to one hour. If you’re not sure if you have a password, need to create one, or have forgotten your password, you can take care of that by following the link here. If you’re still having password problems, please contact NEACH at info@neach.org.

back to questions

I’m not a NEACH member. Can I still use Members Corner?

Members Corner is limited to NEACH members, which ensures that the community remains a safe space to talk about issues.

back to questions

I'm new. What should I do first?

We have a Quick Guide to getting started here. We recommend starting your experience on Members Corner by filling out your profile—adding your bio, a picture, and more. Just look for the small gray pencil above each profile field; click it to edit your information for that field.

back to questions

Do I need a profile picture? What can the picture be? How do I change my picture?

We all like to see the folks that we’re talking to. Most people choose a profile picture that shows their face; however, if you’re shy, a favorite photo you’ve taken—from an adorable kitten to a beautiful sunset—will certainly do. Obviously, don’t choose any offensive or obscene pictures for your profile. All you have to do is click the box in the upper right hand corner and choose "Profile" from the menu. To the left side of your profile, you should see an Actions menu under the profile image area. Click it to change your picture!

back to questions

I’m a private person. How do I maintain my privacy on Members Corner?

Go under “My Profile”, then to "My Account", and follow the dropdown list to “My Privacy Settings.” Your privacy settings govern many things: whether other members can contact you, email forwarding preferences, and if/where your profile information is shown on Members Corner. If you have any questions about privacy issues, please contact NEACH at info@neach.org.

back to questions

I’m not a private person! Why should I set my privacy settings?

It’s still good to know what you’re getting into. We recommend that everyone looks at their privacy settings at least once, even if it’s to set their profile information to “Public.”

back to questions

How do I change my contact information?

On your profile, next to your current contact information, there is a clickable pencil icon to update your contact info. These details are not tied in to the NEACH database; so be sure to continue to email this info to info@neach.org, so that you don’t miss out on NEACH benefit updates and information!

back to questions

What should I put in my bio?

Your bio can be whatever you think is important; however, if you need ideas on what to say, why not answer the big questions: Who am I? What role in payments do I play? and other similar type questions.

back to questions

What sorts of honors and awards should I share in my profile? What should I put for my education?

We encourage you to brag a little bit in this field of your profile. Of course, if you really want to put your Perfect Attendance award from kindergarten, that’s fine, too. The same goes for education—you can share whatever you feel comfortable with, or not share at all.

back to questions

How can I view my own (or someone else's) previous posts, files, and comments?

You can see all this information by navigating to your profile (or the profile of someone else) and looking for the "My Contributions" tab in the upper right hand corner of the profile.

back to questions

What are these ribbons on my profile? How do I get more ribbons?

Ribbons are a fun sort of flair for the profile—they show which degrees you’ve been awarded and what committees you’re a part of. If neither of these applies to you, there are still other ribbons you can get. We have ribbons for top users, so if you want a ribbon, hurry up and join the conversation!

back to questions

What are My Networks? How do they work?

Networks are groups that are automatically built based on the information you've specified in your profile. You can use Networks to find people with similar backgrounds.

back to questions

What are contacts? Someone made me a contact, now what?

Contacts can be people you know, or simply people you’re interested in networking with. Having contacts allows you to filter certain kinds of information so that it can only be seen by people you've selected. Making someone a contact also makes keeping track of him or her a little easier—you have a link to their page on Members Corner right in your profile. You can accept or reject a contact request, though we recommend accepting…who doesn’t like a new friend?

back to questions

How do I find other members to add to my contacts?

You can find other members by searching for them in the directory (accessible via the Network tab in Members Corner main navigation bar). You can search by name, company name, and email address in the basic search. Going to the Advanced Search allows you to search by additional criteria.

back to questions

Help! I got a contact request from someone I don’t want to be contacts with!

Not here to make friends? You are under no obligation to accept a contact request that you don’t want. Likewise, don’t be offended if someone doesn’t accept your contact request until you get to know one another better.

back to questions

What is a Community on Members Corner?
Communities are sections of Members Corner devoted to certain groups of people, topics, or locations. Most communities have both a Discussions section (like a message board) and a Library section (where you can upload images and other files). Every NEACH member automatically belongs to the Open Forum community. You can then join additional communities if you so choose.

back to questions

How do I join a Community?

If you navigate to “Communities” using Members Corner main navigation bar, one of the options in the dropdown menu will be “See All Communities.” Clicking this will take you to a screen listing all the communities on Members Corner. Click the “Join” button to the right of the community name to join it.

back to questions

What is the Open Forum Community?

This community is an open forum containing all NEACH members. It’s a good place to ask questions if you want them to be seen by as many people as possible. It is also the busiest community, making it a great place to begin your explorations of Members Corner.

back to questions

What are Discussions on Members Corner?

Discussions are sections of Members Corner that act like message boards for a particular community. In discussions, you can ask and answer questions, share your expertise, offer advice, and more. Each discussion section contains multiple threads about different topics. Additionally, you can opt in to receive Real Time or Daily Digest versions of the discussions via email.

back to questions

Wait, how are Discussions different from Communities?

Think of it this way: Communities contain Discussions, Discussions contain various discussion threads, and each discussion thread contains one or more discussion posts.

back to questions

What makes a good post to a Discussion?

A good discussion post is on-topic, relevant, and insightful. Don’t be the guy who posts “I like turtles” in the AAP community! We also recommend keeping your subject line concise, accurate, and specific. Don’t start every thread with “I have a question…” but instead give threads helpful titles like “Question about Same Day ACH”. Doing this means other members will know the topic of your post from the thread title alone, making them more likely to click.

back to questions

How do I post a message to a Discussion?

You can post a message to a discussion by going to the Discussions section of the community you wish to post in. Click the green button reading “Post New Message” on the right hand side of your screen. This will take you to a window for posting your message.

back to questions

How do I format my post in a Discussion? Can I add links? Can I use HTML?

At the top of the window for posting your message, you will see a menu bar with options for formatting your post. You can spell check; select a font, font size, and font style; insert bullet points and special characters; cut, copy, and paste; undo and redo; add or remove a link; and embed an image. To add a link, click the chain link icon and insert the URL or email address you wish to link, plus the text you wish it to be anchored to. Members Corner does not currently support HTML in discussion posts. When including an image with your post, we recommend using the "attach" link at the bottom of the posting window, rather than embedding, unless the image is smaller (no more than 400 px wide).

back to questions

How do I reply to a message in a Discussion?

To reply to a message, simply click “Reply to Discussion,” which you will find in the green box to the right of every post on Members Corner.

back to questions

How do I edit a post I’ve made to a discussion?
To edit a discussion post, click the drop-down arrow in the box to the right of their post and select “Edit”.

back to questions

How do I edit the signature that appears at the end of my Discussion posts?

You can edit your signature by selecting the "My Account" tab in your profile and then choosing “Discussion Signature” from the dropdown. Use the variables that appear on the right hand side of the window to format your signature.

back to questions

I want to respond to someone privately. What should I do?

To respond to someone privately, click the drop-down arrow in the box to the right of their post and select “Reply to Sender”. This feature is especially good for off-topic or private issues. Don’t choose “Reply to Sender” if you want everyone on Members Corner to see your response!

back to questions

One of my contacts will be interested in something I read on Members Corner. Can I forward it to them?

You can forward items from Members Corner using the “Forward Message” link in the dropdown to the right of every post. However, bear in mind that Members Corner is a closed community, and do not forward posts to people who are not members of NEACH.

back to questions

I want to learn more about a certain topic. How do I search past discussions?

To search past discussions in a certain community, look for Search box at the top right of Members Corner navigation window. To the left of the button, enter your term, keyword, or phrase, then click Search. To search a specific type of content, range of dates, or content author, select the dropdown arrow to the right of the search button.

back to questions

Why should I subscribe to Communities I’m interested in?

Don’t want to miss important discussions on Members Corner? We offer a variety of subscription options that will send an email to your inbox updating you on activity in Members Corner communities you’re interested in.

back to questions

How do I manage my subscriptions?

One of the options in the "My Account" section of the dropdown menu will be "Subscriptions.” Clicking this will take you to a screen for managing your email subscriptions. Manage other emails from Members Corner under "Email Preferences".

back to questions

What are the different options for subscriptions?

You can choose to subscribe in Real Time (each time a new post is added to a particular community in Members Corner, you receive an email with its contents), Daily Digest (a once-a-day email with all of the day’s activity from that community), and No Emails. You can also add a community to your RSS reader. If you’re not sure, we recommend starting with the Daily Digest—it allows you to stay in the loop quickly and easily.

back to questions

What is the difference between HTML and text formats?

HTML-formatted emails are rich with images—they look almost like Members Corner itself, while text-only emails have all formatting stripped out. We recommend selecting HTML-formatted emails unless your device can’t handle rich formatting.

back to questions

I don’t want emails from Members Corner! What should I do?

Go to “Subscriptions” and select “No Emails” for each community you belong to.

back to questions

What is a Library on Members Corner?

Libraries are collections of documents and images or other files (e.g. PDFs, etc.). The file then can be viewed and commented on within the Library.

back to questions

How do I share a resource on Members Corner?

To upload a resource on Members Corner, select the "BROWSE" menu from the main navigation bar and choose "Library Entries". Select the green button “Create New Library Entry” and fill in the form. Remember to pay close attention to the community library you will be posting the resource. Select “Next” and then “Add File” and “Upload File(s)”. Click “Next” then “Finish”. If you have trouble uploading a document, contact NEACH at info@neach.org.

back to questions

Can I use a document I found on Members Corner?

We encourage the sharing and use of resources and documents but encourage you to always check with your legal department before using any documents found on Members Corner as NEACH does not review or approve documents posted.

back to questions

How do I share a blog post on Members Corner?

Members Corner allows you to share details of your interaction in the payments industry in a personal blog, separate from Members Corner communities. To share a blog post on Members Corner, navigate to the “Participate” section of the main green navigation bar and select “Post to Your Blog” This will take you to a window for writing your blog post. Just create a catchy title, write your story, and select the community and privacy levels you want to have for the post.

back to questions

What makes a good blog post?

A good blog post is different from a good post to Members Corner discussion boards—it’s a place for you to tell your unique story. Whether you want to share a triumph or a tribulation, rant or rave, it is the perfect place to allow other NEACH members to get a glimpse of you. A blog post doesn't have to be fancy or formal. Just remember that the same etiquette rules apply to blogs as to the rest of Members Corner.

back to questions

Who can see my blog posts?

You can choose who can see your blog posts. If you have questions about blog post privacy, please contact the Community Manager.

back to questions

How do I format my blog post?

You can format blog posts using the same formatting menu bar as you use for discussion posts. With it, you can spell check; select a font, font size, and font style; insert bullet points and special characters; cut, copy, and paste; undo and redo; add or remove a link; and attach an image. To add a link, click the chain link icon and insert the URL or email address you wish to link, plus the text you wish it to be anchored to. One difference: you can also use HTML to format your blog posts if you feel comfortable using it.

back to questions

Can I add a picture to my blog post?

Yes! You can add an image using the main formatting menu bar. Select the small landscape image and it will bring up a window for uploading and embedding an image in your blog. Remember to resize your image before embedding, though!

back to questions

I started a blog post but don’t have the time to finish it now. What do I do?

That’s OK! When you need to finish a blog post later, just click “Save for later” at the bottom of the blog composition box.

back to questions

What is and isn’t allowed on Members Corner?

We want Members Corner to be a free, open, and welcoming space, and we are committed to maintaining a respectful exchange among members and staff. In order to maintain this environment, some perspectives are not welcome on Members Corner. Specifically, we reserve the right to suspend your account for posting racist, sexist, or hateful statements or images, or for threatening, harassing, or bullying members. Posts and profiles containing profanity, nudity, violence, and pornographic imagery are forbidden. Don’t spam Members Corner. Don’t consistently post off-topic; Members Corner exists as an educational benefit. All users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right. Finally, please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer members who are having trouble, and treat the staff and other members with respect. See our Code of Conduct and Etiquette Guide for more information.

back to questions

I want to talk about a product or service on Members Corner. May I?

You are absolutely welcome to talk about your experiences that have helped you as a professional; however, any activity that could be construed as libel, advertising or selling is prohibited.

back to questions

Someone posted something to Members Corner that seems like a violation of etiquette. What should I do?

If you see a post on Members Corner that is hateful, obscene, or bullying, please feel free to flag it for moderation. To do this, simply send an email to a NEACH staff member or Raven directing them to the post. The manager will then decide whether or not the post is appropriate and take action as needed. Do not flag posts simply because you disagree with them; abuse of flagging privileges could result in action by Members Corner team.

back to questions

I’m having problems! Who should I contact?

If you’re having problems with Members Corner, please contact NEACH at info@neach.org.

back to questions

Please email NEACH at info@neach.org with details of what seems to be the problem. The more detail (screenshots, etc.) the better! Be sure to note which browser and operating system you’re using.

back to questions

I have a request for a new feature on Members Corner. Where is the best place to ask for it?

You can suggest features in any Community, or send your request to any NEACH staff member to look into. We can’t promise anything, but we definitely want your input!

back to questions

I have questions about my NEACH account, involving billing or something else unrelated to Members Corner. What should I do?
