Treasury services includes a range of services. Deposit products such as account analysis, earning income credit (ECR), sweep services, controlled disbursement, and cash concentration are typically a part of treasury offerings. In addition, money movement services like ACH, Wire Transfer, and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) are also vital offerings. It is critical that an organization offering these services have a solid handle on the goals for these products, the structure behind them, and most importantly the client experience in using them. For these reasons, it is important that an institution have effective product management oversight in place.

We may confuse the concepts of project management, product management, and product ownership but these roles are different and therefore require different skills and structure in place. In this session, we dispel this confusion and explore the role of a product manager regarding oversight of treasury services. We will explore the characteristics of common services included in the suite of a treasury offerings, define the role of the product manager with respect to these services, and examine strategies an institution can employee when implementing and refining product management with respect to treasury services.
