Fraud is everywhere and there are some astonishing statistics on how pervasive of an issue this continues to be. It may come as no surprise that fraud issues continue to plague all types of businesses. From insider fraud to account takeovers to business email compromises and even cyber-attacks businesses are vulnerable to potential losses related to higher risk financial services offerings. With this risks abound, financial institutions have a pivotal role in working to address this challenge. Treasury services are unique in that they offer fraud prevention options that can help a business mitigate these types of risks.

In this session, we explore the risks that exist for businesses and financial institutions with respect treasury services. The common types of fraud schemes will be examined such as BEC, Account Takeover, Phishing, Credit-Push Fraud, and Cyber Attacks. The topic of UCC 4A Commercially Reasonable Security Practices will be explored including addressing authentication and control mechanisms. Lastly, this session will address common treasury services offerings like positive pay, debit blocks, and controlled disbursement used to help in combatting fraud and provide institutions with considerations for how round out these types of offering.
