Business payments are typically high dollars and/or high volume. Because of this, they pose a significant risk to both the financial institution and the business alike. Something that financial institutions need to be aware of is that there is some liability placed on the institution under the Uniform Commercial Code 4A. This liability can be mitigated providing that appropriate security procedures have been implemented.

In this session, we dive into the world of business payment under the lens of risk management by first defining the payment mechanisms commonly used, discussing the control mechanisms available and commonly used, diving into contractual agreement terms, and discussing tactics that can be applied to mitigate some of the main risks involved in offering business treasury payment services. Attendees will also gain insight into data and fraud prevention services such as debit blocking, controlled disbursement, and positive pay that are commonly associated with a business services program.

Come join us as we dive into the topic of treasury management risk management strategies.

Attendees will:
• Examine the risks associated with treasury management services
• Compare the various products that can be used to help mitigate treasury service risk
• Demonstrate an understanding of the liability for financial institutions under UCC4A
