All RTP Participants must complete an annual audit to verify compliance with the RTP Participation and Operating Rules, as required by RTP Operating Rule IX.A.2. This compliance audit can be completed in-house, or it can be conducted by an outside party. Once the audit is completed, Participants are required to return the RTP Self-Audit form to The Clearing House to demonstrate that they have met this requirement. How do you complete this requirement? Where did you get the information, you need? How do you know if you’ve completed it correctly?

In this session, we dive into that very topic. We will break down the self-audit workbook explaining all the audit areas such as General Participant responsibilities, Sending and Receiving Participant obligations, Funding, Non-Payment Messages, Fraud and Risk Management, Errors and Unauthorized Payments, Request for Payment, and Payment Service Providers. The instructor will not only walk through what the audit requirements are but also explain what they mean to the Participant and provide ideas for how to test these areas effectively internally. In addition, we will walk through where to find the self-audit workbook and how to complete the RTP Self Audit Form.
