Kathy Shea serves as Director of Education at NEACH and an Advisor for NEACH Payments Group (NPG). Kathy joined the NEACH team in 2015, where she focuses primarily on creating materials for NEACH’s education department, addressing compliance and risk issues, supporting the payments hotline, writing content for the NEACH website, and managing publications for the NEACH website. Kathy also serves as an NPG Advisor, consulting with various financial institutions and offering ACH Risk Assessments, ACH Risk and Compliance Audits, RDC Risk Assessment, and more.
In addition, Kathy participates in NACHA workgroups in support of the NEACH membership. She is a member of the ECCHO Operations Committee and also participates in several ECCHO working groups. Kathy also manages requests for comment (RFCs) by convening the NEACH Standing Rules Committee and staff for input on proposed rules changes and writes response letters on NEACH’s behalf.
Before joining NEACH, Kathy worked at StonehamBank in Deposit Operations/Retail Services for more than 17 years. As a Cash Management Supervisor and ACH Coordinator, she helped manage workflow, prepared internal audits and risk assessments, and wrote operations procedures.
She has been certified by Nacha as an Accredited ACH Professional since 2012 and received her NCP certification from ECCHO in 2017. She was also certified by ECCHO as a Check Trainer for the National Check Professional (NCP) exam in 2017. Kathy received her Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) certification in 2018, and in 2019, became a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS).
