Article 4A of the Uniform Commercial Code governs wholesale payments, which means that it covers corporate origination of ACH and wire transfers, as well as consumer wire transfer origination (essentially electronic payments not covered by Regulation E). UCC 4A is critical to your institution’s ACH and wire transfer origination agreements, commercially reasonable security procedures, and protecting itself and its Originators from fraud. This intermediate-level session builds on the beginner-level sessions, Compliance Considerations for ACH and Compliance Considerations for Wires, by delving deeper into how UCC 4A compliance can help your institution mitigate risk.
