Elder Financial Exploitation Town Hall

Elder financial exploitation is a long standing issue that is not going away. According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), annual losses due to this issue are estimated to be in the billions! This Town Hall will review common elder abuse scams, red flags for financial institutions and precautionary steps to help avoid becoming a victim. Resources developed jointly by the CFPB and FDIC which can be used to help identify and report financial exploitation will also be discussed. This session will address the importance of training staff and sharing information with account holders in an effort to help protect from this widespread problem.
